Trinity Beach is located 1720 km north of Brisbane and 21 km north of Cairns and as such is a gateway to the beautiful Daintree and Barrier Reef.

Trinity Beach is the location for anyone seeking to explore the natural wonders of Tropical North Queensland, providing the ideal starting point for trips to the Barrier Reef, Cape Tribulation, the Atherton Tableland, Port Douglas and many other exotic destinations.

Other approximate driving distances to Trinity Beach from major Australian cities include, 2430km from Sydney and 2950 km from Melbourne with Townsville located approximately 360 km to the south.

Can we fly to Trinity Beach?

Trinity Beach is within easy distance of Cairns International and Domestic Airport. Cairns Airport is a significant air hub and is well serviced from all parts of Australia and many international destinations.

How do we get from Cairns Airport to Trinity Beach?

a) Airport shuttle transfers which operate to Amaroo at Trinity regularly. We are happy to book these for you. The shuttle service currently costs approximately $20 per person depending on time of travel, with the service taking approximately 30 minutes.

b) Taxicab services are available from the Airport to Amaroo. Typically the taxi fare from the Cairns Airport to Amaroo will cost $55 approximately.

c) Rental Car pick up (and delivery) is available from the Cairns Airport with services provided by many car rental companies. Parking is available to you at Amaroo at no additional charge.

When is the best time to travel to Trinity Beach?

Trinity Beach is well renowned for its subtropical climate and weather year round. During the green season (Jan – April) the weather can become rather humid and hot. However Trinity Beach maintains a relatively steady maximum temperature at 32C.

Trinity Beach’s climate also experiences a cool, dry season during the months of June through to October. For the period of these several months the temperatures still remain relatively warm compared to the remainder of Australia, allowing the winter nights to stay fairly comfortable and warm. The maximum temperature during this time frame arrives at 28C and the minimum is approximately 18C. Thus the winter temperature averages approximately 25C allowing Trinity Beach to enjoy perfect winter days.

Can we swim at Trinity?

Trinity Beach is renowned as Cairns’ best beach and its gentle lapping waters are enticing all year round. However during the summer months it is common for stingers to be found in the Coral Sea waters off the North Queensland coast. At these times nets are provided as protection and a duty Lifeguard is there to oversee the ocean frolics.
