PALM COVE BEACH, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
Palm Cove and its lovely beach are aptly named. Lined with palm trees, and with light tropical sands, complemented by the well-developed strip of restaurants and accommodation, you're within walking distance of the Palm Cove Country Club. It's a 9-hole course, set up with 18 tees, to give you a 5,067-meter, 18-hole experience, in the middle of a tropical garden.
The restaurant overlooks the course should not be missed. The Spice Garden Restaurant specializes in "fusion cuisine". This is a marriage of Thai spice and local ingredients, prepared by the finest chefs (and winemakers) on the continent. It celebrated its 2nd year in 2004, and it has won some serious awards, since it opened.
There are a range of dining experiences available to you in Palm Cove - everything from quaint cafes to 5-star studies in excellence. This is a relatively new phenomenon, however. For years, this beach was known for something else: fishing.
The Palm Cove jetty is the place from which to cast your line. Schools of mackerel migrate through here, heading north to the warmer waters, nearer the equator. There are legal restrictions on size and season, but if your fish is large enough and in season, it's yours! You may not need to throw a shrimp on the barbie. when you return home with the Catch of the Day ! Why not consider cooking your catch on the barbeque at Amaroo at Trinity ? Yet another facility offered to our inhouse guests, for fine home (or hotel) dining. If you need some advice, the locals are always out there and ready to tell you everything you ever dreamed that you might need to know!
Palm Cove Activities
Palm Cove is also teeming with pools and gyms and tennis courts and beauty salons. You can charter sailing trips there. As with all the beaches in this area, you can easily book trips out to the reef for diving, snorkeling, etc.
Speaking frankly - we LOVE Palm Cove. Granted, we find it a little busier than our little haven at Trinity Beach, and we do prefer Trinity Beach because of the awesome ocean views we enjoy that are harder to capture at the 'flatter' Palm Cove, but as far as tropical beach destinations go, Palm Cove is still very beautiful. Why not visit there, while staying in the tropical beauty of Trinity Beach and enjoying the savings offered by our special packages ?
